1. Smoking
I smoked for 20 years.
I was pulling out cigarettes to eliminate stress, or so I thought.
Turns out I was only shutting down signs of withdrawal.
It's a vicious loop.
You used to function without it.
Tap into this.
2. Complaining
Complaining feels good, yet accomplishes nothing.
Stop giving the finger to the a**hole who cuts you in traffic.
Refrain from blaming grandma holding the cashier line.
True strength lies not in lashing out but in choosing how you react.
Between what happens now and what you do next lies the story of your life.
3. Overthinking
Overthinking is the illusion of solving problems you don't have.
It’s leaving the present moment for a future you can never anticipate.
Action is the cure to rumination.
Start now.
Learn through practice.
Solve problems as they come.
Leverage the modern miracle of experts knowledge at your fingertips.
You'll grow faster out in the world than inside your head.
4. Zero Routine
Routine gets a bad rap.
Nine to five. Numb Numb Numb. Sleep. Repeat.
Design a routine for yourself, don’t use the one you’ve been assigned.
Done right, it’s a solid foundation of reliable progress.
Consistent behaviors make for a quick fix when anything goes wrong.
A warning though: don't let it be a house of cards in disguise.
As they say, life is what happens when you start making plans.
If on some days your routine breaks, you should still be functional.
5. No Exercise
While other college kids were in gym class, I was busy mastering fence evasion.
I ran, but only to smoke weed in the park with my band.
Now I know better.
A strong body builds a resilient mind, and ignites the fire of self-confidence.
Do you ever doubt your dream is within reach ?
Nothing a few pounds of weight and a barbell can't fix.
6. The Food I Ate
My teenage years were bathed in Coke and McDonald's.
At 26 I got diagnosed with cancer: stage 4 Hodgkin lymphoma.
You are what you eat.
Stop gulping fake and empty foods.
Would you piss in your car's tank before hitting the road for holidays ?
Right.
Then feed your body with the energy it's been designed for.
7. Not letting things go
Ever heard of The Sunk Cost Fallacy ?
No matter how much time or money you spent, don't ever let it hold you back.
It's fear that's keeping you from changing career, dropping a project making you feel miserable, selling the house devouring your income or moving out of the country.
Sometimes, there's power in release.
When you let go of "what is", you open your arms to "what could be".
8. The Content I Consumed
We explored 0.00001% of life's experience map.
Read, listen and learn. Expand your horizon.
Don't fall for the viral fluffs and their empty promise of hollow camaraderie.
These are puppeteers strings.
Consume with intent, or be consumed yourself.
9. How I Spent My Evenings
If you're not ready to wake up two hours earlier to do the things you do two hours before bed, then what you do before bedtime doesn't matter.
Honor the life you've been given.
Commit to give your gift fully.
Don't escape today running away from tomorrow.
That’s not really how time works.
10. People I Spent Time With
Value your guts and heart over the opinions of others.
You have one life.
Severe ties with toxic people immediately.
The discomfort will be short-lived and will pave the way to a lifetime of unimpeded growth.
Respect yourself and the future you are building.
